XI Congreso Argentino de Hemostasia y Trombosis y Curso Educacional ISTH

The eleventh edition of the Argentinian Congress on Haemostasis and Thrombosis organised by the CAHT (Argentinian Cooperative of Haemostasis and Thrombosis) group was held on the 24th to the 27th of September 2014 at the Convention Centre of the Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires, by the famous estuary Rio Del Plata.
This event is held every two years in alternance with the CLAHT (Latin-American Congress of Haemostasis and Thrombosis).
This is an event of the highest standard attended by almost 800 visitors including first-class foreign speakers. The objective is to share the scientific activity with Argentinian colleagues (clinicians and clinical scientists) through scientific presentations over the three-days congress.
The congress was also the occasion to award the Jury prize of the best oral presentation on “clinical research” as well as “fundamental research”.
For the first time a workshop was held on the « analytical quality in Haemostasis », which was very useful to ensure best standard practices and continuous improvement in the laboratory.
The CATH congress also included a national conference to honour the former founder and president of the Group in 1983-1984.
The partnership between the ISTH and the CAHT continued with a presentation based on clinical cases and about the role of Haematology in Stroke accident: laboratory and clinical aspects, and also on the new anticoagulants in the “real” world.
In parallel to the congress, there was also a commercial exhibition which our Tcoag distributor (Medica-Tec) attended with a stand showing the different instruments and promotion tools of their product ranges including the Destiny Plus and the Destiny Max.
